5 Things I’m Loving in September
Seriously, is it really already the end of September? I am still stuck back in May. However, I am really excited about October because it is my absolute favorite month out of the whole year.
But, before we hit October I want to celebrate the things that I love in September. These reoccurring monthly posts are some of my favorites to write because I get to share with you things that I am loving right now. I am extremely grateful for so many wonderful gifts in my life, but here are 5.5 Things I’m Loving Right Now:
#1: This is a book that I think everyone needs to read. In our Western culture, we have become completely detached from our bodies. We do not consciously or intuitively eat. This book Intuitive Eating was a game changer in how I looked at food. I learned how to reject diets completely, make peace with food, challenge my triggers around food and learn to listen to what my body was telling me. Do yourself a favor and pick up this book. Literally anyone in America could greatly benefit from this!
#2: You all know that I am big in reducing my toxic load in any way that I can. Our bath and beauty products are a huge culprit when it comes to toxins. At the Farmers Market that I run, I accepted Erin from Twigs and Roots who makes amazing natural home remedies including tooth powder and natural deodorant. The tooth powder y’all is awesome. It takes the place of chemical laden toothpaste and is made from bentonite clay and other natural ingredients including essential oils. You simply dip your wet toothbrush into the powder, and brush. It’s different, but really works. Check out her Etsy site, her stuff is fantastic.
#3: If you would have asked me a year ago if one of my favorite things would be supplements I would have laughed! But I’m here to tell you I am obsessed with my daily supplements from doTERRA. These have been instrumental in healing my body from endometriosis, getting off my anti-anxiety medication, and having the most energy I’ve had in my whole life. Oh and I’m sleeping like a baby! I didn’t realize the importance or effect of good whole foods vitamins until I tried these. I eat pretty darn healthy, exercise and take care of myself, but I was still exhausted, riddled with anxiety and had lots of inflammation in my body. These 3 supplements helped to change all of that. The month supply called the Life Long Vitality Pack, consists of a bio-available whole foods daily 10 servings of fruits and veggies, an essential fatty acid omega blend (vegan or fish) and a cellular complex that has amazing essential oils and herbs to help reduce inflammation, create healthy cells and prevent disease. Moral of the story, do your research on your vitamins. Throw away your One-A-Days and invest in something your body can process and use like the Life Long Vitality. (Order here)
#4: We all have our favorite coffee shops, and I do too. The Jam Coffeehouse in Nashville is my absolute favorite. Why? They offer so many healthy drinks, local milk and tasty natural breakfast and lunch options. My favorite drink that I am obsessed with right now is called the YOLO. It’s Bragg’s unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar, Cinnamon infused raw local honey, fresh ginger, with sparkling mineral water over ice. It is seriously the most refreshing thing you can drink, and chalked full of all the benefits of the superfood ingredients.
I went ahead and made my own version of this with doTERRA cinnamon essential oil. If you do not have that you can add a couple sprinkles of dried cinnamon to the honey mixture. Plus, feel free to add more of the honey syrup if you like it sweeter.
#5: Number 5 goes out to all the inspirational women that I have to mention. I am constantly following these beauties and seeing what they are accomplishing, and how each of them is living a spirit filled life. Check them out, their blogs and their missions. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
