Healing Salt Cave
My friend Suzanne had been urging me to hit up the Serenity Salt Cave in Nolensville, Tennessee. Finally over this long holiday weekend I took Chris, my sister Marissa and my friend Emily to see what all the rage was about.
First off, a salt cave here in the States is not an actual cave. Rather, it is a room converted into a cave like atmosphere. It dates back several decades in the Ukraine, where many Eastern European countries have been using salt therapy to treat ailments like sinuses, pain, skin issues and even cancer. This room is covered with over 10,000 lbs of Himalayan Pink Salt. The walls and even the floors are completely covered with salt.
I was in heaven. You walk into a small room that holds around 10 zero gravity chairs and immediately you are ready to relax. It is dimly lit, with twinkle lights above and soothing spa tunes come from the speakers. My crew and I got a 45 minute session of pure relaxation and bliss while breathing in the salt air.
Deana Taylor, the owner said it was equivalent to spending a week at the beach. Yes please!
The salt air helps to kill bacteria and clear mucus in the body while strengthening your overall immune system. After our session I got to sit down with Deana and ask her a few questions. Check out my interview below:
If you have any of the following issues, the salt cave (there are 25 in the country) would be very helpful in relieving medical symptoms and side effects of these conditions.
- Bronchial/Sinus Related Issues
- Cystic Fibrosis
- Circulatory Issues
- Ear Infections
- Nervousness, Poor Concentration
- Skin Conditions: Psoriasis and Eczema
- Sleep Disorders
- Smokers Cough
- Weakened Immune System
What do you think? Would you try it?
